Virtual Trip to Ellis Island and Live Webcast

Travel to Ellis Island in New York Harbor, along with students from across the U.S., to learn the history of immigration via Scholastic.com’s "Coming to America: Ellis Island". This live, video streaming event will give students the opportunity to experience immigration as new arrivals to America as they travel through the Baggage Room, Registry Room, Stairs of Separation, and the rest of the island.

To access the event, on March 29 go to: http://www.Scholastic.com/ellisisland . Click “Log in Now” and type in your email address to enter. The tour begins promptly at 1PM EST, so log in a few minutes before the start time.

Free teaching resources for grades 3 – 8 are available at Scholastic.
