Here are some sites that may be useful for teaching composition and grammar in fun and interesting ways that can engage even a reluctant writer.

PicLits They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Use this site to inspire creative writing with picture prompts. Choose a photo and drag and drop nouns, adjectives, adverbs, verbs, or your own words to write descriptive sentences and paragraphs, and create a "PicLit" you can share with others. There's a section called "Learn It" with suggestions on how to improve sentences and build up to paragraphs, and how to read poetry and write with figurative language.

ZooBurst Do your kids like pop-up books? At this site, they can create their own 3-D, interactive pop-ups. Select characters and props from a database and the site creates a book that can be viewed from different angles, with clickable items and pop-up chat bubbles for characters.

Myths and Legends At this site, not only can you read and view folklore from around the world (Pandora's Box, The Snow Maiden, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight), you can create your own using the Story Creator. There's also a teacher section with lesson ideas.
