You and me and love makes three
I can’t believe I met you
How strange it feels to have you loving
Me and you and love makes two
Those two equations don’t align; perhaps I missed a minus sign

I have tried so hard to find
A way to reconcile
What happens when I see you smile at
Me, your eyes, then my heart flies
I’d do my best to pay in kind, if only I could think it through and

No more trying to see why I feel for you, why you feel for me
No more trying to see what no one can know, remain mystery

You and I, we won’t divide
Despite our many differences
I’m confident the sum of us is
Love, and you, are both congruent
No matter what angle I use, the answer seems to equal you

But no. It can’t. Redo the math
To risk sounding derivative,
Please never change and always give
Your love, and touch, I need so much
Regardless, I may lose my mind, if I can never think it through and

(Chorus)

No more trying to see why I feel for you, why you feel for me
No more trying to see what no one can know, remain mystery

Formulas and functions, logarithmic probability
Scientific studies of my brain waves and anatomy
Yet none of it explains how you loving me was in my fate
And how it’s somehow possible that I fully reciprocate

Maybe I should let go of this
Maybe I should just let go
Cause darling, when it comes down to it
The reasons don’t matter at all
I checked my answer many times,
I redefined both x and y,
I spent a million nights alone,
I could have been with you at home,
The problem isn’t love; it’s me,
and I can’t find the answer key
So I gotta stop to find, find, find

(Chorus)

No more trying to see why I feel for you, why you feel for me
No more trying to see what no one can know, remain mystery
